Nikiti is a town with a deep history and many attractions.

Nikiti’s history begins with the founding of the first settlement there, in the 14th century. Significant paleontological findings have been discovered at the old settlement. This settlement from the late Hellenistic and Roman era is located near Nikiti Beach. From there, you can follow the path that leads to the ruins of the early Christian basilica of Sophronios, one of the oldest and most important found in Northern Greece.

In 1867 the parish church of Agios Nikitas was built, which you can visit today. This is a picturesque church with a wonderful view of the old settlement of Nikiti. The area around the church is ideal for a walk.

The Historical and Folklore Museum of Nikiti highlights the history and culture of the area through a collection of about 500 objects. It is worth a visit to learn about the settlement and the life of the people of Nikiti during the 19th and 20th century.
